What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Cookies are how a site recognises a returning browser, keeps you signed in, remembers a preference or counts a visit.
Similar technologies do comparable things by other means. Local storage and session storage keep data in the browser rather than sending it with every request. Pixels and tracking scripts report activity back to a third party. Device fingerprinting infers an identifier from the characteristics of your browser without storing anything at all. UK rules on cookies apply to storing or accessing information on your device by any of these routes, not just to cookies strictly defined.
What this site actually sets
This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no account, no login, no basket and no stored preference, so there is nothing for a first-party cookie to remember. The pages do not use local storage or session storage, and there is no fingerprinting script.
There is one conditional exception. This site supports Google Analytics 4, and where a measurement ID has been configured by the operator, the Google Analytics script loads and sets its own cookies. Where no measurement ID is configured, the script is not injected at all — the code does not fall back to a placeholder or a disabled tag. The same applies to the optional Google Ads conversion tag: no identifier configured means no tag, and therefore no advertising cookie.
The enquiry forms work without cookies. When you submit one, the contents are posted directly to an internal route on this site and forwarded to whoever handles enquiries. Nothing about that process stores anything on your device. What happens to the data afterwards is described in the privacy policy.
Cookie categories and their status here
Strictly necessary
- What it would be used for
- Keeping a site secure and functioning: session continuity, load balancing, fraud and abuse prevention, remembering a cookie choice.
- Status on this site
- Not in use. The site has no session or sign-in to maintain. Note that if a consent banner is added later, the cookie recording your choice will belong in this category.
Analytics and performance
- What it would be used for
- Measuring which pages are read, how visitors arrive and where they leave, so content can be improved. On this site that would be Google Analytics 4, which sets its own first-party cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions.
- Status on this site
- In use only if the operator has configured a Google Analytics 4 measurement ID. If none is set, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is created.
Advertising and targeting
- What it would be used for
- Conversion tracking, audience building and remarketing — typically through an advertising platform tag that records that a particular browser reached a particular page.
- Status on this site
- Not in use. No advertising, remarketing or social pixel is present by default. The codebase supports an optional Google Ads conversion tag, which loads only if an identifier is configured.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. Analytics and advertising cookies do, and that consent must be given before the cookie is set rather than assumed from continued browsing.
How to control cookies in your browser
Every mainstream browser lets you see which cookies are stored, delete them, and block some or all of them for particular sites or for everything. The settings usually sit under privacy, security or site settings, and most browsers also offer a private or incognito window that discards cookies when it closes.
- Chrome — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies and Site settings.
- Safari — Settings or Preferences, then Privacy, where you can block cookies and manage stored website data.
- Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
- Firefox — Settings, then Privacy and Security, where Enhanced Tracking Protection also blocks many trackers outright.
Blocking cookies will not break this site, because it does not depend on them. On other sites it may stop you signing in or remembering preferences, which is the usual trade-off.
If you want to opt out of Google Analytics across every site rather than just this one, Google publishes a browser add-on for that purpose.
Completion note for the operator
If analytics or advertising is ever switched on, this page stops being accurate and must be updated at the same time. The following need to be in place before the tag goes live, not afterwards:
- 01A consent mechanism that blocks analytics and advertising scripts until consent is given, and that allows consent to be refused as easily as it is given.
- 02A record of the specific cookies set, with their names, purpose, duration and whether they are first or third party — listed on this page.
- 03Identification of the provider behind each cookie, and where the resulting data is processed, cross-referenced to the international transfers section of the privacy policy.
- 04A clear way for a visitor to change or withdraw a cookie choice later, linked from this page.
- 05An updated review date at the top of this page, and a corresponding update to the privacy policy.
